Learning

At St Teresa’s College, we provide a learning environment where students are challenged to think deeply, explore ideas with confidence, and develop a genuine love of learning. Students are known and mentored, feel safe to take intellectual risks, and are supported to discover and pursue their passions.

Inspiring lifelong learners is at the heart of all we do. We hold high expectations for academic growth and achievement for every student, while also preparing them for success beyond secondary school. Powerful learning occurs when each student’s individual needs, interests, and abilities are recognised within a respectful and supportive environment.

Our Learning Dashboard platform supports learning as a shared responsibility between students, parents, and the College. It enables students and families to:

  • Track learning progress in real time
  • Set academic goals and targets
  • Access timely and meaningful teacher feedback

The College Capable Learners Program builds students’ capacity to take responsibility for their own learning through explicit development of literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. Students are supported to apply these skills across learning areas and develop confidence in understanding assessment expectations and monitoring their own progress.

Highly qualified teachers bring the curriculum to life through engaging and purposeful learning experiences. Teachers closely monitor individual progress and use evidence informed practices to provide targeted support and extension where needed.

As technology continues to shape the world our students will enter, the development of strong digital literacy skills is a key focus. Students are provided with devices to enhance learning experiences, with:

  • iPads used in Years 7–9
  • MacBook laptops supporting learning in Years 10–12

Together, these approaches create a learning environment where students are known, challenged and supported to thrive. At St Teresa’s College, learning is not just about achievement, but about developing confident, capable young people who are prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
