Sunshine Co​ast Secondary Schools Netball Competition

This competition is played against other secondary Sunshine Coast Schools at the Fisherman’s Road Courts at Maroochydore on Monday evenings as a school sport during Semester 1. St Teresa’s has a strong representation in this competition with many teams competing each year. This competition caters for all ages and all ability levels. During the past several years St Teresa’s has had some great success with winning premierships in many divisions. Staff, parents and past students coach teams.

St Teresa's Netball Academy

Teams in the St Teresa’s Netball Academy are the 13, 14 & 15A’s, Open A Reserves & Open A’s who play in the Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Netball Competition as well as Qld Catholic Cup in Brisbane. The QLD Catholic Cup competition is part of the national pathway and the opportunity exists for players to gain representation for Queensland Catholic Schoolgirls.

The STCC Netball Academy is run by Keirra Trompf (ex QLD Firebirds player). The program has been set up to benefit all girls in the ‘A’ teams at the College. The format of the program focuses on:
  • Netball Skills
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Nutrition & Recovery
  • Strategy & Tactics
The following commitment is expected for all girls in 2014.
  1. Monday Night GamesTraining 2.30pm - 4.30pm
  2. Tuesday (Junior A and Intermediate A)
  3. Training 2.30pm - 4.30pm Wednesday (Open A and Open A Reserve)

Other

These may include:
  • Vicki Wilson Netball Competition
  • QISSN (Qld Independent Secondary Schools Netball Competition)
  • 15, 19 Under Independent District Netball - District trials with other North District schools for the purpose of gaining representation on Sunshine Coast Regional teams, later competing at State and possibly National level championships
  • Interhouse Netball - Junior and Senior School competitions for both boys and girls during lunch hours
  • Participation in player, coach or umpiring clinics and courses
