It was a crisp Saturday morning in Pomona when Year 11 and 12 Tourism students welcomed entrants in the Family Fun Run at the King of the Mountain Festival. The class was completing the first of three on-site event registration assessments as part of their Certificate II in Tourism. Following their briefing, the class settled in, answering questions, providing directions and registering competitors who ranged from enthusiastic four-year olds to mums and dads. The students enjoyed working with the other volunteers and developed an appreciation of the time and effort that goes into coordinating a successful event. Thank you to Heather Manders, Festival Chairperson, for providing this training opportunity for the class. Next event – The Noosa Tri.
