Earlier this term twenty students were selected to represent St Teresa’s at the 29th Marist Basketball Carnival, being held in Canberra in April. The carnival not only gives our representatives an opportunity to play against some of the best teams in Australia, it is also an opportunity for students to share with other young people our Marist traditions, values, vision and story. Both the boys and girls teams have been training hard for the carnival. If you were to drop into the school at 5.30am on a Tuesday morning you would see 10 girls wiping sleep out of their eyes (as well as a teacher and coach!) about to start a 2 hour training session! The players commitment to training and working together is a credit to them all and as the Team Manager I feel very proud! Recently we asked the players to reach out to local businesses to request assistance by way of player sponsorship. To keep the student costs down we are still hoping for a few more sponsors and in return we will ensure your business logo is printed on all player’s team jerseys. We would like to thank the following businesses who have already offered their assistance by sponsoring a player: OPSM Noosa CivicJD ConstructionsSimply CoolPeter Hull ArchitectIf you have a business or know of anyone that is able to assist us with a sponsorship please email Leigh Boggis – Team Manager, Lboggis@bne.catholic.edu.au. The cost of a player sponsorship is $250 however we are also interested in speaking to any business that is interested in being a major sponsor.
