Music Performances Showcase the College! Last Thursday night our 2018 Vocal Ensemble and Soul Collective band won tremendous praise and acknowledgement for STCC’s Co-curricular Arts Program as they performed at The J as part of Noosa’s International Women’s Week Festival, alongside a range of outstanding guest presenters and professional performers. The event was attended by community members and regional representatives, and it was also rewarding to see so many staff and parents in the audience supporting this important occasion and our own ensembles. Our Vocal Group performed the uplifting gospel track People Get Ready, followed by a magical rendition of London Grammar’s powerful contemporary ballad Strong. I would also like to thank our wonderful new vocal ensemble coach Charly Bradshaw for her ability to have the students ready for such a big event in so short a time, and the ensemble itself for undertaking the beginnings of our work in performance coaching for stage presence. They won accolades for the College. Soul Collective also took the stage in their typically cool, suave and bold style, performing their polished favourite Sisters and the crowd-pleaser Man I Feel Like A Woman. What a wonderful night and fabulous showcasing of our talent and programs in the wider Noosa community. Well done all, including the inspired event organiser Jeanette Del Santo.
