On 8th May 2019, the Year 8's from the Academic Curriculum Extension (ACE) STEM group headed down to the University of Sunshine Coast (USC) to participate in a Lego Robotics Course. Throughout the day, the group were programming and interacting with EV3 Lego robots and competed in lots of fun challenges against other High Schools from our region. At the end of the day every school participated in a competition with a number of challenges – including obstacles and objects that had to be either knocked over or placed elsewhere. In the end St Teresa’s won the competition with the maximum points available (32). Our group had a great time at USC and learnt some life-long skills in problem-solving to carry through their schooling years. St Teresa's has just currently purchased an EV3 Lego robot so that students can practice and become more competent for future competitions and RoboCup Courses in our Region.
